Yellowbird®: Data-driven Packaging Generator

Overview

This automated label generator for hot sauce company Yellowbird® uses a Google Sheets dataset to generate the appropriate packaging for each of its products based on its spice level, organic designation, and two tasting notes. The client can compose labels for existing products and custom ones alike by either selecting the characteristics on the site or adding a product to the dataset directly.

Yellowbird® has a strong existing brand identity, so I kept many of their existing assets, including the bright yellow background color and signature typeface. In this data-driven upgrade, I built upon the existing system to automate and highlight each product's sensory profile using custom illustrations and a compositional refresh.
